There are upcoming changes in legislation which are expected to affect the majority of Sage 200 Suite customers. From 1 April 2010, HMRC legislation changes dictate that all companies with a turnover of more than £100,000 will have to submit their VAT returns electronically.


To comply with this change in legislation, the Sage 200 2010 release provides a link to the HMRC gateway, allowing users to electronically submit and pay their VAT return online.

Sage is currently testing Sage 200 v2009 on Windows 7 and expect to release Service Pack 4 which will be supported on Windows 7 at the end of April .


Sage is not planning to test previous versions of Sage 200 on Windows 7 and is not testing on the ‘XP mode’ within Windows 7.


Our advice, in line with that which we received from Sage, is to wait until service pack 4 is released before installing Sage 200 on Windows 7. Should you choose to install in the meantime, however, we would recommend that you only install in the following circumstances:-
